Cranberry Honey Butter

Posted on September 9, 2025 by Danish Kaleem

Here’s a delicious and festive recipe for Cranberry Honey Butter a sweet and tangy whipped spread perfect for holiday rolls, toast, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, or cornbread. It takes just minutes to make and stores well, making it great for gifting, too!

🧈 Cranberry Honey Butter

🍽️ Yield: About 1½ cups

⏰ Prep Time: 10 minutes

⏱️ Chill Time (Optional): 30 minutes

🥄 Skill Level: Easy

📝 Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks / 226g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

  • ⅓ cup dried cranberries (see notes for fresh option)

  • 3 tbsp honey

  • ½ tsp orange zest (optional but adds a nice brightness)

  • Pinch of salt (optional, enhances flavor — especially if using unsalted butter)

🧑‍🍳 Directions

🔪 Step 1: Prep the Cranberries

  • Finely chop the dried cranberries by hand or pulse them in a food processor until small bits form.

  • If they seem dry or chewy, soak them in hot water for 5–10 minutes, then drain and pat dry. This will plump them up and make the butter smoother.

🧁 Step 2: Whip the Butter

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened butter.

  • Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the butter on medium speed for 1–2 minutes until light and fluffy.

🍯 Step 3: Add Honey and Flavor

  • Add in:

    • Chopped cranberries

    • Honey

    • Orange zest (if using)

    • Pinch of salt

  • Mix until all ingredients are evenly combined, about 30–60 seconds. Scrape down the sides as needed.

🧊 Step 4: Chill (Optional)

  • For a firmer texture, transfer the butter to a small container, ramekin, or roll into a log using parchment paper.

  • Chill for 30 minutes or longer to let the flavors meld.

  • Can be served soft or firm, depending on your preference.

🍞 Step 5: Serve!

  • Spread on warm rolls, toast, biscuits, cornbread, pancakes, or muffins.

  • Makes a beautiful addition to holiday or brunch tables.

🫙 Storage Tips

  • Fridge: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.

  • Freezer: Wrap in parchment or plastic wrap and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before using.
