  2. Add onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, herbs, and parsley.

  3. Mix gently using hands or spoon until just combined.
❗ Do not overmix (keeps patties tender).

Step 2: Shape the Patties

Option 1: Cheese-Stuffed Patties

  1. Take a portion of meat mixture.

  2. Flatten it in your palm.

  3. Add 1 tablespoon cheese (and cream cheese if using).

  4. Cover with another thin layer of meat and seal edges.

Option 2: Cheese-Topped Patties

  1. Shape patties about 1-inch thick.

  2. Place cheese on top later during baking.

Step 3: Arrange for Baking

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  3. Place patties slightly apart on tray.

Step 4: Bake

  1. Bake patties for 18–20 minutes.

  2. Remove tray, add tomato sauce (if using) and cheese on top.

  3. Return to oven and bake 8–10 minutes more until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. Patties should reach an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
