Here’s a classic, easy Alabama Firecrackers recipe—crispy, spicy, addictive crackers that are perfect for snacks, parties, or game night 🌶️🔥

🔥 Easy Alabama Firecrackers Recipe

⏱️ Prep Time: 5 minutes

⏱️ Rest Time: 8–12 hours

🍽️ Yield: 6–8 servings

🧾 Ingredients

  • Saltine crackers – 1 box (about 40 crackers)

  • Olive oil or vegetable oil – 1 cup

  • Ranch seasoning mix – 1 packet (about 1 oz / 28 g)

  • Crushed red pepper flakes – 1–2 tablespoons (adjust to taste)

  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Onion powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Dried dill weed – ½ teaspoon (optional but traditional)

  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon (optional)

👩‍🍳 Directions (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Arrange Crackers

  • Place saltine crackers in a large zip-top bag or airtight container.

  • Keep them flat to avoid breaking.

Step 2: Mix the Seasoning Oil

  • In a bowl, whisk together:

    • Oil

    • Ranch seasoning

    • Red pepper flakes

    • Garlic powder

    • Onion powder

    • Dill weed

    • Black pepper

Step 3: Coat the Crackers

  • Pour the seasoned oil mixture over the crackers.

  • Seal the bag/container tightly.

Step 4: Rest & Toss

  • Let the crackers sit at room temperature for 8–12 hours.

  • Gently turn or shake the bag every 1–2 hours so crackers absorb evenly.

Step 5: Serve

  • Crackers are ready once fully coated and dry to the touch.

  • No baking required!

🌟 Tips for Best Results

  • Use olive oil for richer flavor, vegetable oil for a lighter taste.

  • Don’t rush the soaking time—this makes them extra flavorful.

  • Shake gently to keep crackers intact.

🔁 Variations

  • Extra Spicy: Add 1 tsp cayenne pepper

  • Cheesy: Add 2 tbsp grated Parmesan

  • Smoky: Add ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • Mild Version: Reduce red pepper flakes to ½ tbsp

❄️ Storage

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature

  • Stays fresh for 5–7 days
