Banana bread

Here’s a foolproof, super-moist banana bread you can make without thinking too hard 🍌🍞


🍌 Perfect Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 very ripe bananas (the uglier, the better)
  • ½ cup melted butter (or oil)
  • ¾ cup sugar (white, brown, or half & half)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

Optional upgrades

  • ½ cup walnuts or pecans
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas until mostly smooth.
  3. Stir in melted butter, then sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Sprinkle in baking soda and salt; mix.
  5. Fold in flour just until combined (don’t overmix).
  6. Add any extras.
  7. Bake 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool 10 minutes, then try not to cut it too early (good luck).

  • Overripe bananas = natural sweetness
  • Wrap overnight → even better next day
  • Freeze slices individually for emergency snacks
