NO-BAKE CHOCOLATE CUSTARD DESSERT

This No-Bake Chocolate Custard Dessert is a smooth, layered dessert made with chocolate custard, biscuits, and cream. Perfect for summers, parties, or when you want a quick sweet treat without baking.
Ingredients (Serves 6–8)
For the Biscuit Base
- 200 g digestive biscuits or plain tea biscuits
- ½ cup melted butter
For the Chocolate Custard
- 3 cups milk
- 4 tbsp custard powder (chocolate flavor)
- 4 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
For the Cream Layer
- 1 cup fresh cream or whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
For Topping (Optional)
- Chocolate shavings
- Crushed biscuits
- Cocoa powder
- Chocolate chips
Directions
Step 1: Prepare the Biscuit Base
- Crush the biscuits finely using a food processor or rolling pin.
- Mix crushed biscuits with melted butter.
- Press the mixture firmly into the base of a serving dish or glass tray.
- Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to set.
Step 2: Make the Chocolate Custard
- In a bowl, dissolve custard powder and cocoa powder in ½ cup cold milk.
- Heat remaining milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Pour in the custard mixture slowly, stirring continuously.
- Cook on low heat until thick and smooth.
- Remove from heat and mix in vanilla essence.
- Let it cool slightly (lukewarm, not hot).
Step 3: Prepare the Cream Layer
- In a bowl, whisk cream and powdered sugar until slightly thick (soft peaks).
- Do not overwhip.
Step 4: Assemble the Dessert
- Spread chocolate custard evenly over the chilled biscuit base.
- Gently spread the cream layer on top.
- Smooth the surface with a spatula.
Step 5: Chill
- Refrigerate for 3–4 hours or until fully set.
Garnishing
- Sprinkle chocolate shavings or cocoa powder on top.
- Decorate with crushed biscuits or chocolate chips.
Tips for Best Results
- Stir custard constantly to avoid lumps.
- Let custard cool slightly before layering.
- Use full-fat milk for a richer taste.
Variations
- Layered version: Add another biscuit layer between custard and cream
- Coffee flavor: Add 1 tsp instant coffee to custard
- Fruit twist: Add sliced bananas or strawberries
