NO-BAKE CHOCOLATE CUSTARD DESSERT

Creamy, rich & super easy – no oven needed

This No-Bake Chocolate Custard Dessert is a smooth, layered dessert made with chocolate custard, biscuits, and cream. Perfect for summers, parties, or when you want a quick sweet treat without baking.


Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

For the Biscuit Base

  • 200 g digestive biscuits or plain tea biscuits
  • ½ cup melted butter

For the Chocolate Custard

  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 tbsp custard powder (chocolate flavor)
  • 4 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

For the Cream Layer

  • 1 cup fresh cream or whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

For Topping (Optional)

  • Chocolate shavings
  • Crushed biscuits
  • Cocoa powder
  • Chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Biscuit Base

  1. Crush the biscuits finely using a food processor or rolling pin.
  2. Mix crushed biscuits with melted butter.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the base of a serving dish or glass tray.
  4. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to set.

Step 2: Make the Chocolate Custard

  1. In a bowl, dissolve custard powder and cocoa powder in ½ cup cold milk.
  2. Heat remaining milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  4. Pour in the custard mixture slowly, stirring continuously.
  5. Cook on low heat until thick and smooth.
  6. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla essence.
  7. Let it cool slightly (lukewarm, not hot).

Step 3: Prepare the Cream Layer

  1. In a bowl, whisk cream and powdered sugar until slightly thick (soft peaks).
  2. Do not overwhip.

Step 4: Assemble the Dessert

  1. Spread chocolate custard evenly over the chilled biscuit base.
  2. Gently spread the cream layer on top.
  3. Smooth the surface with a spatula.

Step 5: Chill

  • Refrigerate for 3–4 hours or until fully set.

Garnishing

  • Sprinkle chocolate shavings or cocoa powder on top.
  • Decorate with crushed biscuits or chocolate chips.

Tips for Best Results

  • Stir custard constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Let custard cool slightly before layering.
  • Use full-fat milk for a richer taste.

Variations

  • Layered version: Add another biscuit layer between custard and cream
  • Coffee flavor: Add 1 tsp instant coffee to custard
  • Fruit twist: Add sliced bananas or strawberries

Storage

  • Keep refrigerated for up to 3 days
  • Do not freeze (texture may change)
