Here’s a simple and crispy Fried Potatoes & Onions recipe—golden, savory, and perfect as a side dish 🥔🧅✨


🥔 Fried Potatoes & Onions

  • Total: 30–35 minutes

🍽 Serves

  • 2–3 servings

🧾 Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled or unpeeled, cut into cubes or slices
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (or butter for flavor)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: ½ tsp paprika or garlic powder
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep Potatoes

  • Cut potatoes into evenly sized cubes or slices for even cooking.
  • Soak in water for 10–15 minutes to remove excess starch (optional, makes them crispier).
  • Drain and pat dry.

2️⃣ Cook Potatoes

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add potatoes and spread evenly.
  • Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown.

3️⃣ Add Onions

  • Push potatoes to the side of the pan (or remove briefly).
  • Add sliced onions and sauté 5–7 minutes until soft and lightly caramelized.
  • Mix with potatoes.

4️⃣ Season

  • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika, or garlic powder.
  • Stir well and cook for 2 more minutes to combine flavors.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
  • Serve hot as a side dish for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

🌟 Tips

  • For extra crispiness, cook potatoes in batches or use a non-stick skillet.
  • Add bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor and color.
  • Drizzle a little olive oil or melted butter before serving for richness.
