Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

For the Steak

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (8–10 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Tomato & Onion Salad

  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced or diced

  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar or lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional)

For the Crispy French Fries

  • 3–4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into fries

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • Salt, to taste

  • Optional: garlic powder or paprika for seasoning

Instructions

1. Prepare the Fries

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. Toss cut potatoes with oil, salt, and optional seasonings.

  3. Spread on a baking sheet in a single layer.

  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.

  • Alternative: Deep-fry potatoes until golden and crisp.

2. Prepare the Salad

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced tomatoes and onions.

  2. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar (or lemon juice).

  3. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.

  4. Toss gently and set aside.

3. Grill the Steak

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Rub steaks with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. Grill steaks for 4–6 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness).

  4. Remove steaks and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

4. Serve

  • Plate steaks alongside a portion of crispy fries.

  • Add a generous serving of tomato and onion salad.

  • Optional: drizzle some salad dressing over the steak for extra flavor.

Tips for Perfect Grilled Steak with Fries & Salad

  • Let steak come to room temperature before grilling for even cooking.

  • Rest steak after grilling to retain juices.

  • Soak potato fries in cold water for 30 minutes before baking for extra crispiness.

  • Customize salad with cucumbers, bell peppers, or feta cheese for variety.

Variations

  • Garlic Butter Steak: Brush steak with melted garlic butter after grilling.

  • Loaded Fries: Top fries with cheese, bacon, or herbs.

  • Spicy Salad: Add sliced chili or a pinch of red pepper flakes.

  • Pan-Seared Option: Cook steak in a hot skillet with a drizzle of oil if grill is unavailable.

This Grilled Steak with Tomato & Onion Salad and Crispy French Fries is a classic, satisfying meal combining juicy meat, fresh flavors, and golden, crunchy fries—a perfect balance of indulgence and freshness.
