Chocolate-Topped Cream Dessert (Silky, Rich & Easy)This is a no-bake, creamy dessert with a light vanilla cream base and a glossy chocolate topping. It’s quick to make, perfect for guests, and tastes like a bakery-style treat.

Ingredients

For the Cream Layer

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup fresh cream (or whipped cream)

For the Chocolate Topping

  • 100g dark or milk chocolate (chopped)
  • ½ cup fresh cream

Optional Base (for layering)

  • 1 cup crushed biscuits (digestive or Marie)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Base (Optional)

  • Mix crushed biscuits with melted butter
  • Press into serving glasses or dish
  • Chill for 10–15 minutes to set

Step 2: Make the Cream Layer

  • In a saucepan, mix milk, sugar, and cornflour
  • Cook on medium heat, stirring continuously
  • When it thickens into a smooth custard, turn off heat
  • Add vanilla essence
  • Let it cool slightly, then fold in fresh cream

Pour this over the biscuit base (or directly into serving cups if skipping base)

Step 3: Prepare Chocolate Topping

  • Heat cream until warm (not boiling)
  • Pour over chopped chocolate
  • Let sit for 1–2 minutes, then mix until smooth and glossy

Step 4: Assemble

  • Pour chocolate topping over the cream layer
  • Spread evenly for a smooth finish

Step 5: Chill

Refrigerate for 2–3 hours until fully set.

Serving Suggestions

  • Garnish with chocolate shavings or nuts
  • Serve chilled for best texture
  • Add strawberries or bananas for extra flavor

Pro Tips

  • Stir custard continuously to avoid lumps
  • Don’t overheat chocolate—it can split
  • Use good-quality chocolate for best taste
  • Chill properly for clean layers

Variations

1. Oreo Chocolate Cream Dessert

Add crushed Oreos between layers

2. Coffee Chocolate Version

Add 1 tsp coffee to the cream layer

3. Fruit Cream Delight

Layer with sliced bananas or strawberries

  • Keep covered to prevent drying

Final Thoughts

This chocolate-topped cream dessert is simple, elegant, and crowd-pleasing. With its smooth texture and rich chocolate layer, it’s a perfect no-bake option when you want something special without much effort.

If you want, I can also give you a no-custard version or a bakery-style mousse dessert 👍
