Air Fryer Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry

🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4–6 slices of cooked ham
  • 4–6 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or mozzarella)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: Dijon mustard or honey mustard for spreading

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Puff Pastry

  1. Preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, unfold puff pastry sheet.
  3. Cut into 4–6 rectangles or squares depending on desired size.

Step 2: Assemble

  1. Optional: Spread a thin layer of mustard on each pastry piece.
  2. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each rectangle.
  3. Fold pastry over filling (like a pocket) and press edges with a fork to seal.
  4. Brush tops with beaten egg for golden color.

Step 3: Air Fry

  1. Lightly spray air fryer basket with oil or use parchment paper.
  2. Place pastries in a single layer (do not overcrowd).
  3. Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes, until puffed and golden.
  4. Flip halfway through if needed for even browning.

Step 4: Serve

  • Let cool for 2–3 minutes before serving.
  • Perfect with ketchup, mustard, or a side salad.

  • Extra cheesy: Add shredded cheese inside in addition to slices.
  • Add veggies: Spinach, bell peppers, or caramelized onions.
  • Mini versions: Cut puff pastry into smaller squares for bite-size snacks.
  • Spicy twist: Add a slice of jalapeño or sprinkle chili flakes.
  • Make ahead: Assemble and freeze; air fry straight from frozen (add 2–3 extra minutes).
