Here is a Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups recipe that is crispy on the outside, soft and cinnamon-sweet inside—perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups

Ingredients

Roll-Ups

  • White sandwich bread – 8–10 slices (crusts removed)

  • Unsalted butter – 2 tablespoons, melted

Cinnamon Filling

  • Unsalted butter – 2 tablespoons, softened

  • Brown sugar – ¼ cup

  • Ground cinnamon – 1½ teaspoons

  • Vanilla extract – ½ teaspoon

French Toast Coating

  • Eggs – 2 large

  • Milk – ¼ cup

  • Vanilla extract – ½ teaspoon

  • Ground cinnamon – ¼ teaspoon

Topping (Optional)

  • Granulated sugar – 2 tablespoons

  • Ground cinnamon – ½ teaspoon

  • Powdered sugar or maple syrup for serving


Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

  • Remove crusts from bread slices.

  • Flatten each slice gently with a rolling pin.


Step 2: Make the Cinnamon Filling

  • In a bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth.


Step 3: Fill and Roll

  • Spread a thin layer of cinnamon filling over each bread slice.

  • Roll up tightly from one end to form a log.

  • Lightly brush the outside with melted butter to seal.


Step 4: Prepare the French Toast Mixture

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined.


Step 5: Dip the Roll-Ups

  • Dip each roll-up quickly into the egg mixture.

  • Do not soak; just coat evenly.


Step 6: Cook

  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it.

  • Cook roll-ups seam-side down first.

  • Turn gently and cook all sides until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.


Step 7: Cinnamon Sugar Coating (Optional)

  • Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.

  • Roll warm roll-ups in the mixture.


Tips for Best Results

  • Use fresh, soft bread for easy rolling.

  • Do not overfill or they will leak.

  • Cook on medium heat so the filling melts without burning.

  • Serve immediately for best texture.


Variations

  • Cream Cheese Filling: Add 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese to the filling.

  • Apple Cinnamon: Add finely chopped sautéed apples.

  • Chocolate Cinnamon: Add mini chocolate chips.

  • Air Fryer Version: Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 6–8 minutes, turning once.


Storage

  • Best eaten fresh.

  • Can be refrigerated for 1 day and reheated in a pan or air fryer.
