🦀 Crab Rangoon Egg Rolls (Crispy & Creamy)

🧾 Ingredients

Filling

  • 200 g cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup crab meat (imitation or real, finely chopped)

  • 2 tbsp spring onions (green onions), finely chopped

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • ½ tsp sugar

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp sesame oil (optional, but recommended)


For Wrapping

  • 10–12 egg roll wrappers

  • Water or flour slurry (for sealing)


For Frying

  • Oil (vegetable or canola)


👩‍🍳 Directions (Step-by-Step)


Step 1: Prepare the Filling

  1. In a bowl, add softened cream cheese.

  2. Mix until smooth.

  3. Add crab meat, spring onions, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, black pepper, and sesame oil.

  4. Mix well until creamy and evenly combined.

  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

👉 Filling should be creamy, not runny.


Step 2: Assemble the Egg Rolls

  1. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape.

  2. Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling near the center.

  3. Fold the bottom corner over the filling.

  4. Fold in both sides tightly.

  5. Roll up firmly.

  6. Seal the top edge with water or flour slurry.

👉 Roll tightly to prevent oil from entering.


Step 3: Fry the Egg Rolls

  1. Heat oil to 170–180°C (350°F).

  2. Fry egg rolls in batches, seam-side down.

  3. Fry for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown.

  4. Remove and drain on paper towels.


🍯 Optional Sweet Chili Dipping Sauce

  • ½ cup sweet chili sauce

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • ½ tsp rice vinegar or lemon juice

Mix and serve on the side.

  • Keep wrappers covered to prevent drying

  • Don’t overfill

  • Fry at correct temperature

  • Drain well before serving
