  • ½ cup capsicum (bell pepper), thinly sliced

  • 2 spring onions, chopped

  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • ½ tsp chili sauce (optional)

  • ½ tsp vinegar

Optional Protein Add-Ins

  • ½ cup boiled shredded chicken OR

For Wrapping

  • Spring roll sheets

  • 2 tbsp cornflour + 2 tbsp water (slurry for sealing)

For Frying

Step-by-Step Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

Heat oil in a wok or pan over high heat.

Add garlic and sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.

Add cabbage, carrot, capsicum, and spring onions. Stir-fry on high heat for 2–3 minutes. Vegetables should remain slightly crunchy.

Season with salt, black pepper, soy sauce, chili sauce, and vinegar. Mix well.

Turn off heat and let the filling cool completely.

Step 2: Wrap the Spring Rolls

Place a spring roll sheet on a clean surface (diamond shape).

Add 1–2 tablespoons of filling near one corner.

Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in the sides, and roll tightly.

Seal the edge with cornflour slurry.

Repeat with remaining sheets.

Step 3: Fry Until Golden

Heat oil on medium heat.

Fry spring rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3–4 minutes.

Remove and drain on paper towels.
