  • Onion – 2 tablespoons, finely chopped

  • Bell pepper – 2 tablespoons, finely chopped

  • Salt & pepper – to taste

  • Butter or oil – 1 teaspoon

For Topping:

  • Extra grated cheese – ½ cup

  • Chopped parsley or green onions – for garnish

Step 1: Prepare Mashed Potatoes

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender.

  2. Drain well and mash while hot.

  3. Add butter, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, egg yolk, and cheese.

  4. Mix until smooth but firm (not runny).


Step 2: Prepare the Filling

  1. Heat butter or oil in a small pan.

  2. Sauté onion and bell pepper 2–3 minutes.

  3. Add cooked meat or vegetables, season with salt and pepper.

  4. Cook 2 minutes and set aside.


Step 3: Shape the Potato Nests

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).

  2. Grease a muffin tin or baking tray.

  3. Spoon mashed potatoes into wells.

  4. Use the back of a spoon to create a nest shape with a hollow center.


Step 4: Fill and Top

  1. Fill each potato nest with prepared filling.

  2. Sprinkle extra cheese on top.


Step 5: Bake
