👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Directions

Step 1: Make the Wonton Filling

  1. In a bowl, combine ground meat, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.

  2. Mix well until slightly sticky (this helps bind the filling).

Step 2: Fold the Wontons

  1. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface.

  2. Add 1 teaspoon filling to the center.

  3. Brush edges with water.

  4. Fold into a triangle and press to seal.

  5. Bring the two bottom corners together and pinch.

  6. Repeat until all filling is used.

Step 3: Prepare the Broth

  1. In a pot, bring chicken stock to a gentle boil.

  2. Add garlic, ginger slices, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt.

  3. Simmer on low heat for 8–10 minutes.

  4. Remove garlic and ginger slices.

Step 4: Cook the Wontons

  1. Bring broth back to a gentle boil.

  2. Add wontons carefully.

  3. Cook 3–4 minutes, until wontons float and filling is cooked through.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Ladle soup and wontons into bowls.

  2. Garnish with green onions, cilantro, and chili oil.

  3. Serve hot and fresh.
